
After business coaching for over 10 years I have come to the conclusion that small business owners lack a sound knowledge of business education. When we think about our past influencers and the knowledge we’ve been taught from them we realise that we have learnt to become “specialists”. So we get branded an accountant or hairdresser or engineer or mechanic and that is our “job” (just over broke) and that is where we stay for life. To become the ultimate entrepreneur you need to step away from what you know and start learning what you don’t know or what you haven’t been taught.
So what are the things you may not have been taught growing up that you require to be successful in business?
1. Marketing: You need to have a very braod approach on marketing including online marketing and traditional marketing. There are so many different areas to work on when it comes to marketing that we don’t have the time to discuss in this post but it would take you at least 5 to 10 years to learn everything and more!
2. Sales: Most people run away when they hear the word “sales” yet every business owner must have to sell something at some point or they will die a slow death in business. Why make it hard when you can learn the skills of selling quickly from a specialised coach.
